Battery charges dropped in bar fight case

Outagamie Co., Wisconsin

Criminal misdemeanor charges of battery and disorderly conduct were dropped today for a New London woman.

Charges stemmed from a bar fight on December 31, 2006. The Outagamie County resident admitted to punching the bar owner in the face. However, she claimed she acted in self defense after she was attacked by the owner of the bar. The bar owner had prevented her from leaving the premises, holding her by the hair. Several other bar patrons were involved in a flurry of fights during the incident.

The day before trial, the New London resident received word from her attorney Sydne French that the State had agreed to dismiss all criminal charges against her.
